A lot of stuff has happened since the last time I graced you with my presence. London is no more. A townhouse in Lagos is my new domicile. I ended my time as a blogger for a while but the biggest news of all is (drumroll, please…) I have a boyfriend! Exciting, I know!
We met at his mother’s book reading of “This is Not a Discoteke.” A riveting tale, compiled vignettes of her time as a young lawyer in Nigeria. It was just like a movie. He saw me. I saw him. He thought I looked lovely and I appreciated how cute he was. We made plans to have drinks at Radisson Blu 15 minutes into our conversation.
Drinks. The mood was light, the drinks were delicious and everything was pretty perfect. We chatted about life, my last relationship, secondary school days…we were definitely in bonding mode. He thought about my boobs and we made plans to have dinner at Cactus. In an interesting turn of events, I actually asked him out. I was smooth and suave. It was a lovely evening.
Dinner. The meal was tasty and the company was fascinating. I do not remember the exact details of our conversation but I know we talked about whether he liked me or not. Turns out he thought I had layers that needed to be peeled back. It sounded slightly sexual but I rolled with it. The evening ended and it was good.
Lunch. Alice Garden was a Japanese-inspired utopia. An Asian haven filled with magnolia blossoms and metallic dragons. It is not standard practice for me to go all the way to Ikeja for a date but I knew he was something special. We talked, I drifted off to Neverland a couple of times because of his soothing voice, we delved into our childhoods; it was so nice.
Dinner and drinks. He asked me to go steady and I answered with a resounding “Yes.” He makes me giddy and I was super flirty that night. The Cosmopolitans definitely played a part in my desire to suck his face off. Which I did (cheeky grin). ‘Twas a great date.
All in all, I am really happy. He makes me happy. If anyone had told me that I would have a boyfriend this year, I would have plotzed. So ends the tale of the boy and I.

Loved this update. Honest as usual, with an amazing writing ability, but what I loved most of all is the good news. Stay happy and blessings for 2025!
